Brooke's Looks

I'm here to make you look (and feel) good.
I love tokidoki! So, I was especially excited when they came out with their make-up line. The graphics are adorable but a lot of their products have fallen short for me. Not the Atre palette though, it has perfect price and quality.
My palette of choice is  ‘Vegas’ but the limited edition ‘24-karat’ one is my second pick. Both of them come with 4 eye shadows and a blush to go with them. The Vegas palette’s blush is ‘bronze pink’ which is by far my tokidoki favorite. The shadows are ‘white pearl’, ‘pearl grey’ (these two are intended to be blended together). And ‘iridescent purple’ and ‘pearl dark purple’ (also intended to blended). Both combos are beautiful and they colors cross blend well too!
This can be purchased at Sephora and www.sephora.com, I’m not really sure where else! It only costs $10 which is extremely reasonable especially because it’s a $48 value.

As much as I love bold lipsticks, I also love subtle glosses but it can be hard to find a non-sticky one. I don’t know about you but I have a drawer full of lip glosses that haven’t quite won my heart over. But ladies, the hunt is over.
Sephora’s Glossy Gloss has a two thumbs up from me. It has a great sheen, a HUGE variety of tints, and it’s not gooey or sticky at all.  These glosses give a wet sheen, it’s very sexy and the colors are subtle. It’s also extremely moisturizing and contains antioxidants.
I only own two shades, though I’m sure my collection will expand shortly! I have ‘Pink Macaroon’ and their newest shade ‘Fresh’. Pink macaroon is a candy-like pink shade, it’s glossy and sheer,  Fresh is a pale pink with a sparkle that gets picked up in the light. Both of them are gorgeous.. and tasty!
Sephora’s Glossy Gloss is exclusive to the Sephora Collection and therefore can only be purchased at their stores and on their website, www.sephora.com. They cost $10 each and are a must-have to for every lip gloss lover out there.

Bold colors are a must this season, especially bright lipsticks, stains, and glosses. It can be hard to find the right product, the right color, and for me.. the right pink. I’ve been on the hunt for the right bold pink lipstick for a long time. And also the confidence to wear it once I’ve got the product!
Finally I have found my ‘it’ pink lip product. Tarte’s LipSurgence natural matte tint in ‘Lively’. That really is the perfect name for that shade. It’s bold, beautiful, and makes your face look full of life. It’s peppermint infused and glides on smoothly and evenly.
This product has been clinically proven to improve your lips moisture by 6000% in 28 days, an added bonus. It delivers nutrients on a cellular level, which is what makes it worth the money!
Tarte’s products can be purchased at Sephora and www.sephora.com.. and of course www.tartecosemtics.com. As well as Ulta and on their website. This lip tint costs $24 and is worth every penny (though I’d gladly take it for free!).

I have discovered my new nail miracle product. And I hate to say it, but I think it’s even better than nailtiques. It’s Duri’s Rejuvacote base/top coat. It’s purpose is to be a ‘nail growth system’ but it’s also VERY quick drying.
I found that when using this as a base and top that I didn’t even need to use a quick drying spray! Which was really shocking to me because I was texting, typing on my computer, and channel surfing…right after painting my nails. Not one chip, not one smudge. Perfect manicure.
This product is about $9 and can be purchased at Harmond and other beauty supply stores. And of course on www.amazon.com .. at a discount! for $6.17. Also, you can go straight to www.duricosmetics.com.

I hate shaving my legs for one reason: after I have itchy, dry skin. It’s the kind of itchy and dry that my regular moisturizer doesn’t help and it drives me crazy! Or.. it used to.
Upon looking around for products to use on my icky post-shaved skin (legs especially), someone suggested trying baby oil. Now, regular baby oil absolutely disgusts me. It’s runny and TOO oily for me. So when I found the Johnson’s baby oil gel I was thrilled.
It’s perfect, you only need to use a little bit. It’s inexpensive and last a long time. It has aloe and vitamin e, which are essential for healing dry/flaking skin. It ‘locks 10x more moisture’ than regular baby oil. And in the summer time, it makes your legs look super sexy, tan, and toned.
Johnson’s baby gel can be purchased at any local drug store for under $5, cant beat that price!

Liquid eyeliner dives me crazy, or at least it did until I discovered Stila’s liquid eyeliner pen. It makes it easy to do anything from a single swipe to a sexy cat eye. This eyeliner comes in a few shades: black, gray, green, blue, and dark brown. I, personally, only use black eyeliner.. so that’s the only shade I can recommend!
This is an all day liquid eyeliner in a pen form. It has a felt like tip and does not dry out. It’s waterproof and quick drying. Everything we look for in a liquid eyeliner with the added bonus of being easy to apply.
Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner costs $20. It can be purchased at www.stilacosmetics.com or, of course, at Sephora and www.sephora.com.

We all get blackheads, pimples, and whiteheads (ick!). But I’ve found a product that has literally eliminated blackheads that have been in my pores for years. Sounds unbelievable? Well trust me, it isn’t.
Neutrogena’s Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser is a miracle worker. You can use it nightly as a face wash, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it. As a mask it works the best. apply a thin layer to the skin, heavier on the T-Zone (nose, forehead, chin) or wherever you have deep blackheads. Do not, I repeat, do not leave it on for more than 5-7 minutes. Especially during your first time of using. If you have especially sensitive skin aim towards 5 minutes.
This product is pretty strong for something over the counter. It can leave people with fair or sensitive skin a little rosy after using it, because of that I suggest using it around bed time. It directly kills the enzymes that create and cause blackhead break outs. This product is recommended by dermatologists and is really a dream come true to those who suffer from clogged pores.
Neurtogena products, including their clear pore cleanser, can be purchased at any drug store. The cost is inexpensive at only $7.

I love Too Faced pallets..even more than I love the naked pallets. For all of those who are make-up savvy, you know this is a heavy statement. I find that Too Faced’s colors blend better and have a lighter feel on your skin.
That being said, I really have to rave about their new Romantic eye palette. It’s an array of feminine shades that are lovely for the spring time. They have pinks, greens, light greys, shimmery whites; all the colors that remind me of romance and the spring time. There are also a variety of palettes including smoky eye, natural, and matte. My favorites are the smoky and (obviously) the romantic eye kit.
Too faced has the formulas down. They even provide cards that show you how to apply the shades in a smoky, subtle, and romantic way. There are 3 that correspond with the way the palette is displayed: day, classic, and fashion. The ‘Day’ is a sheer white with a hint of sparkle, a beige tone, and a gray tone. ‘Classic’ has the fair pink shade, a lilac purple, and a deeper purple to blend in. And lastly, the ‘Fashion’ has a subtle green, a deeper almost metallic shade of green, and a honey brown for accenting. My personal favorite is the ‘Classic’ simply because I love the pink and purples.
Too Faced’s eye palettes can be purchased at www.toofaced.com and of course in Sephora stores and their website www.sephora.com. As well as at ulta and www.ulta.com. They cost $36 which is a steal, the colors separately cost over $100.

pizzawolves asked: hi brooke! i don't really know much about makeup except that i wear what i have. i only have a few dark lipsticks right now but i want to get some lighter colors. what shades of lipstick would you recommend for darker hair? or just in general? i have no idea how to go about choosing but i know i want some lighter shades for spring/summer

I really like buxom’s lipsticks, they’re kind of expensive at around $18. Right now they have an awesome duo at sephora, it’s a coral color lipstick with a gloss (they look good together or separate). It’s called the travel in style duo and its $12 for the two.

If you want something cheaper New York Color makes a million great colors going for $1 each. I really like Petal, it’s a pinky shade :)

Let me know if this helps or if you want any more suggestions.

himheryesnofuckyou asked: literally everything you post i live off of. so good.

let me know if you have any suggestions, tips, or are looking for any product in particular :)
